Kodaka

The Kodaka are the world’s hidden technical elite: the ones who understand, maintain and control the code of reality beneath Keshuma. To ordinary citizens they look like ordinary citizens. The only tell is a pair of gloves that lets them talk directly to the code that runs everything.

What can they do?
Through their gloves, a Kodaka reads and rewrites the hidden rules of reality. They fix machines, repair Keshuma’s MEM-linked systems, unzip compressed MEM and rebuild fragmented memories. They can even swap a partner’s skills in real time. There is one limit: a Kodaka can only program what they actually know, because memory is the layer that makes creation possible.
How do they fit within Keshuma City?
The Kodaka sit above the city, the higher-ups looking down. Keshuma contracts them as its secret fixers, MEM specialists and intelligence operatives, and the city needs their hands wherever something breaks. At their hidden core, they are a powerful secret establishment, almost the Illuminati of Keshuma.

How are they organized?
There are no promotions. A Kodaka moves inward, through four Circles, and each Circle knows more of the system’s true architecture than the one around it. An outer member may not even know the inner Circles exist.
The Outer Circle is the visible face: the city’s secret fixers on the street, quietly keeping everything running. The Middle Circle keeps the city’s secrets flowing, from encrypted data to fragmented memories. The Deep Circle is so classified that even the Kaichukan don’t know half of it exists, and some of its members descend into the catacombs for lost knowledge. The Inner Circle is the foundation of everything, with complete access to the world’s system, and almost nobody knows it exists.

How do they work with the Kaichukan?
The Kodaka are embedded partners of the Kaichukan, and secretly the power above them. They are contracted into Kaichukan operations at every level, from critical raids to Command, and at the very top the MEM Wizard holds a mandate equal to Keshuma’s supreme command. What the Kaichukan don’t know is how far the Inner Circle’s access really goes: beyond any contract, and beyond any door they know exists.
