Chimpers X Final Bosu

Adapted from Behind Our First Collab Pack on the Final Bosu blog, 18 February 2026: two communities building one card pack together.

If you finished our Discord onboarding, you know licensing is one of the ways we plan to grow the Final Bosu universe. Reaching millions of fans takes more mediums and formats than one team can cover. So we partner with others, who bring our world to new audiences and give our existing fans something new.
For example, look at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:
- Mirage Studios (the core team) created the original comic book.
- Konami handled the classic video games.
- New Line Cinema produced the movies.
Each specialist took the Turtles into a new medium, and the franchise reached far more fans than Mirage could have on its own.

When Chimpers approached us, we asked how to build a deal that feels true to both brands. Fans rarely see the business choices behind a franchise’s growth, yet how you license your IP and how involved you stay are what turn a project into a lasting brand. This is how Final Bosu × Chimpers became a story-driven collaboration.
World-building comes first
A strong license needs story elements that guide every product.

To bring two worlds together, we first asked: how do we keep each IP’s identity and still make them one? Lego Batman came to mind. It is a fully Lego universe that tells a Batman story: the characters and the humor feel true to Batman, and everything is made of bricks.
For the RIP-PACKS, we took the same approach:
- Every card features a Chimper, so the Chimpers identity stays front and center.
- Each Chimper “dies” in their own world, is reborn by Metora (our mysterious body-creation device), boards the Respawn Express and starts down their Growth Path. Chimpers brings its own design style, and every twist stays grounded in Final Bosu lore.
Building it together
The best collaborations feel like joint creative workshops.

On a trip to Tokyo last year, I was struck by how generic most licensed merch felt: your favorite anime character printed on low-quality goods you’d never choose otherwise. Studio Ghibli works the other way. They review designs, advise on materials and make sure each item tells a small part of their story, and the result is merch you actually want to buy.
We stayed in the room with Chimpers the whole way. We:
- Built our lore bible: its symbols, story arcs and progression rules.
- Assembled asset toolkits, a Figma board and a visual lore map, with every character, environment, element and icon.
- Designed story-driven examples of where to place Growth Path nodes, stage trials and hide Easter eggs.
Chimpers then used these materials to craft the card layouts, flavour text and rarity tiers. The finished RIP-PACK carries both teams in every card.

That is the model behind Final Bosu × Chimpers: the story leads, both teams build it, and it reaches fans in a format we could not make alone. Every collaboration adds to our assets, case studies and lore bible, and moves us closer to millions of fans in the Final Bosu universe.
